La Luz de Jesus 25th Anniversary

Preview

I’ll be participating in the 25th anniversary show at La Luz de Jesus.

Billy Shire has masterminded and organized a monumental group show featuring 200+ artists, each of whom have contributed one new piece and a written anecdote about their experience with the gallery. In 25 years of groundbreaking exhibitions, this is La Luz de Jesus Gallery’s first survey, featuring three generations of the most important artists working today. The book, a companion to the show, chronicles the rich legacy of La Luz de Jesus and the thriving art movements it helped launch.

Opening events for the two-part group show titled
La Luz de Jesus 25
will occur during the weekends of October 7 and November 4, 2011.

Involved in the La Luz de Jesus 25th Anniversary project is a who’s-who of art, including Robert WilliamsJoe ColemanMark Ryden, Sam Doyle, Glenn BarrElizabeth McGrathGary PanterMark MothersbaughLou BeachHudson MarquezMarion PeckAaron SmithOwen SmithFrank KozikManuel OcampoGail PotockiDon Ed Hardy, Dave CooperDaniel Martin DiazLaurie LiptonShagScott MusgroveBari Kumar,Tim BiskupJudith Schaecter, Joe SorrenChris MarsEric White, The Pizz, Jessica Joslin, Gary BasemanBob DobSpain RodriguezClayton Brothers and literallyhundreds more. This is the single most important book ever published on this art genre from one of the most important galleries to emerge in the past two and a half decades.

Fawn Fruits Feature!

So I got this photo from one of my collectors, Marco Petrick and boy…is he a fan! Check out all the fawnfruits paintings and drawings he has picked up over the years. This gave me a great idea! I’m going to be working on a tab that showcases all the fawnfruits around the world! So…if you have purchased one of my works and would like to showcase the image, send me a photo of the drawing along with a photo of yourself :) Don’t be shy! I’d love to get to know who adopted my children.

To show my appreciation, I did a little drawing for Marco. Thanks buddy!

Draws Girls: Glee

So its no secret I watch glee…I decided to follow this weeks assignment: Born This Way!

Ok so I draw girls…lots of them. Some people put me down for that and I’ve been sort of ashamed of this…its time to come out my shell and embrace the fact that I was born this way.

How to frame your images in photoshop

I’m really lazy so Im trying to figure out a simple way to just photoshop my work to a template. Here is a poor mans tutorial on how to mask

1. take a nice photo

image

there was some distortion so I straightened it out.

———————–

2. On a new layer, make a solid shape, marquee tool, this will eventually be your mask

image

3. Put your photo ON TOP layer of the mask layer. Highlight that layer and (mac) click and hold, ALT+APPLE+G. This will make your top layer go into the mask shape. If done correct, you should see a drop down arrow.

If you need to change the mask, just simple edit on the mask layer
